LIVE, I HAVE FRIENDS THAT LIVE IN A COMMUNITY SUCH AS THAT. I HAVE BEEN TO THIER PLACE SEVERAL TIMES. AND YES, THEY KNEW OR WERE FAMILIAR WITH EVERY PERSON THAT WALKED THRU THE GATE. NO MATER WHAT COLOR.
 
I live in a neighborhood with about 150 homes. I know most on my street. The other 6 roads? Nope. I wave at them when they are out but that's it.

If I was at the pool and three people there I knew from my street, I'd be crucified if I didn't ask them for their id but did ask for someone else's, especially if they were balck, Indian, Asian, Latino, or black as we have a very diverse neighborhood.

We currently have a post running about 100 comments deep on Nextdoor about this very issue with our pool.

Like JLS always said you two are in a Mayberry scenario. Yes people wave but know knows everybody anymore. What is the excuse for the lady that called the cops on Ving???? She lives next door. According to you two she should have known him because she was his neighbor. Also what in the hell was she doing looking into his house??

We have a 6 foot iron fence around the pool and they are jumping it.

I have every right. Guess who pays the bills when one of these kids gets hurt and parents sue over an attractive nuisance claim? It is NOT public property. Even the local sherrif has asked to police the common property. Neighbors have had to run grown adults off who feel they can fish in our pond.

FROM WHAT I READ OF THE VING THING, THE POLICE DID EVERYTHING RIGHT. THE LADY THAT CALLED IN THEN DENIED IT, THATS ALL ON HER. SHE IS THE OBVIOUS ISSUE, NOT VING AND NOT THE POLICE.
 
I'm going to you what guys, I have a few black friends, and on accession when we are hanging out together I have noticed a difference in the way we are treated than if I was just hanging out with my white friends. It may be suttle sometimes but I do notice it.

IF SOMEONE SAYS THE FENCE WAS JUMPED, REVIEW THE RECORDING FIRST, THEN CONFRONT, IF IT WAS JUMPED. NO LAWSUIT NEEDED. BUT IF YOU DONT LIVE IN THA HOOD, YOU WILL BE ARRESTED FOR TRESPASSING. PROBLEM SOLVED.

One of our few areas of agreement! I'm amazed by how many people value living somewhere SO MUCH that they voluntarily sign away property rights. Those same people wouldn't buy a car and sign a contract that states they cannot paint their car a non-approved color.

Listen, if my neighbor wants to paint his brick neon yellow, as much as it would look retarded.......it should be his right to paint his personal property that color.

HOAs count on the fact that homeowners, individually or even in groups, will avoid the expense and the aggravation and simply shut up and “behave” or move. I would be the latter.

Agree on the HOA thing. If I could afford to live where there wasn't one around here... One of the things about TX (at least this area, anyway), the fiercly independent, keep the government out of my business bluster - yet every fucking neighborhood has it's own little HOA fifedom. Less government indeed. :Confused:

Oh, and them claims about everything being bigger in TX... somehow DOES NOT apply to garages and parking spaces. Which baffles my mind. Everyone owns a big ass crew cab truck (which is fine, I love trucks too), but there's nowhere to park the damn things!:mad:

I wouldn't even consider moving TO an area under an HOA thumb. I am many things, but conformist is not one of them. If I get any shit around here I tell them to fuck off and mind their own business.
 
Yeah, I am just like you, but the wife had the house when we got married....

When we do the next house we will not be near a HOA.
