Here on the west coast of sunny Florida, the lowest temperature we've had so far during this autumn season is 63. But it's going to get cooler tomorrow night. The forecast calls for back-to-back nights of 58 and 59, and if that holds true, it will be the lowest temperatures since sometime in May.

Not only that, Friday's high is forecast to be 74, and that would mark the first time since May that the high didn't reach at least 75. And the hurricane season is coming to an end, and we haven't had so much as a ttopical storm or hurricane warning in 2025.

Isn't it great in the Sunshine State?
 
It's currently 76 degrees as I post this (at 3:25 p.m. Thursdsy, and this if the first time in October it izsn't going to reach the 80s. And tomorrow, it's going to be even "colder" with a high around 74.
 
A week or so, I potsed the forecast of our first low temperatures below 60 since April, and those forecasts came true as we had baxk-to-back lows in the upper 60s.

Now, it's forecast to get even colder, Florida-style, with low of 49 forecast for the upcoming Monday and Tuesday mornings.

That's still not bad, when compared to most other locations, however.

 
You'll have to share that weather now. Thousands of New Yorkers gonna head that way.
 
It must be going to get really cold to the north of us, because our forecast now calls for lows of 43 and 45 on those days.

I can count on one hand the number of times I've expeienced 28 degrees or lower since I relocated from Wyoming to Florida way back in 1966.

I'm only talking about Florida temperatures because I often experienced very low temperatures when competing in bowling tournments in places such as New York (Syracuse and Niagara Falls), Salt Lake City, Baltimore and Cincinnati.
 
The forecasters keep adjusting downward, and now they are calling for a low Monday-night tempertature of 41. However, I seriously doubt that it will go that low.

The reason I say that is the winds will be from the northwest, and the Gulf water temperature is still 73, and with highs in the 80s and lows near 70 for the next two nights, it may creep upward yo 74 or 75. And I consider that with the chilly northwest wind crossing warm Gulf waters before arriving here, it should stay at least 4 or 5 degrees warmer than forecast.

Eithet way, it will be much lower than normal for a couple days early next week.
 
It happens, but it rarely gets down to 39 degrees or below in the winter months here in Sarasota, Fla., but area forecasters are calling for it to reach that figure tonight (Nov. 10) in the wake of a strong cold front.

Such temperatures are rare -- especially in November -- and for example, the lowest-ever reading on this calendar date was 44 back in 1934, so anything below that will establish a new cold-weather mark.

With it that cold down here, I can just imagine how cold it has already gotten in other areas affected by the arctic cold front. Brrrr!
