Cholesterol for most people can be changed with diet. Some people might be predisposed to it and statins might work. Statins gave my father another 20 years ( cholesterol from 700 to 400). He refused to change his diet (he loved him some Mayport shrimp and King crab).
Blood pressure is tricky. Some people can live with pre hypertension until they die with no ill side effectss. I had an assistant manager who had pre hypertension for years and ended up blowing both his kidneys out. His BP was 140 over 85 for years.
I have weird orthostatic hyper/hypo tension issues that final got regulated with a beta blocker. My BP is all over the map. My normal BP is 115 over 65 to 70. The problem I have is when I am stressed it gets up to 150/90. The other issue is that if I am sitting down and then I stand up my BP swings all over the place.
