This forum isn't busy, but it's busier than the BR and BBE forums

Just out of curiosity, I took a look at the BR (Ball Reviews) forum for the first time in more than a year, and whereas that forum always had quite a few users online at any given time, THERE IS ONLY ONE USER ONLINE NOW -- a poster named Creaky, as I post this at 2:25 p.m. And further, there hasn't been a single post in their main forum since 11:42 a.m. Tuesday.

As for another forum I used to frequent, BBE (Bowling Ball Exchange), there are only 3 threads with any posts since June 23, so this forum is far more active than that.

Wow. I just logged in at BR and was 1 of 6. While in there, I finally responded to a message Greg sent me there back in April! I had sent him a message several week before that when AB was down - asking if the Gov. shut us down. lol

BBE still has my account on "discourage", which means it makes it nearly impossible for me to navigate the page. I usually get a message telling me the servers are overloaded. Been that way for years.

I've been trying to recruit some facebook friends but it seems like a majority of folks don't know the internet exists past FB. I had one guy sign up here, and then never showed up. I asked him why and he said because AB doesn't show up on his timeline!!!

Dear Greg T:

Is it even possible to "recruit" some of the BBE or BR posters who may have "given up" because of lack of activity in those forums? There were very few people in BBE when I checked earlier today, and the only 2 I recognized were milorafferty and RevZiLLa. Perhaps you could scan the list of those forums' members and see if you can find anyone you recognize who hasn't been active for at least a month or two, or more.

I've done it repeatedly at BR. Still a lot of grudges over there. Most still have me blocked! Some responded with not having time, or they don't frequent forums any longer, etc. I don't know why we lost so many here. Spider, MI2AZ, Bruce is around but won't post here, CCRIDER, GTGT, Inverted 1, JLS, Livespive is now missing, Maine Man, Monster Pike, Radioactive, Jorge, Revzilla, Strider, FIGJAM, Tigerbait, Tobats, Trash heap, used to be quite active.

As I said, I cannot navigate the BBE site because they have my account restricted.

Dear Greg T:

What did you do that caused people to block you on the BR site? I can understand blocking me (because of the way I responded to vicious personal attacks), and I can certainly understand blocking such posters as Long Gone Daddy and brooksguru, but why you?

I was an asshole at BR. (and to some, I probably still am.) Not to the point where I would instigate, but I would not walk away, either. The toxic moderation of that forum turned me against them and I kinda took it out on a lot of people who didn't deserve it. After the forum became unruly, I felt there would be serious repercussions if the place wasn't cleaned up and brought back to a civilized state. We had people with 5, 6, 7, or more accounts and they would use those accounts to gang up on others. (remember when we first moved here) I was able to recognize many of the offenders so I offered to be an admin and start cleaning house. I was mostly ignored by the admin group and sometimes given suspensions. I finally just gave in and began to attack some of the folks I KNEW had multiple accounts and would piss them off to the point where I tried to get them banned. I alienated a lot of good people back then but I thought it would save the forum and all would be okay in time. I failed. Many of those still hold grudges or have me blocked.
