ELI5: 20 percent Mexico tarrif

It makes the imported goods cost more, sell less and gives American companies an even playing field in which to sell their items. More than likely, you'll see more American goods on the shelves of Wal Mart, Sams, Costco etc.

Still doesn't explain how we aren't paying for fence, especially initially.

I'm all about getting a fence up along the entire border, but Americans will pay for it.

Once the mexican president sees his economy is going to plummet he will decide that writing a check for the wall will be less costly.
well, if he's got a fucking brain he will.

I really don't care who pays for the wall, as long as it gets built.
Any thing he can get Mexico to chip in toward it is a bonus...
so no, I won't hold it against him if we ultimately have to pay for it.
Just my opinion...

No Greg, it means you will see even more Chinese goods on Wal-Mart shelves if that is possible.

Trump has also said that he is somehow going to tap into the millions that the illegals are sending back to Mexico and the other hell holes they are from.

41 was for NAFTA. 42 signed it into law. 43 allowed it to continue. 44 added to it with TPP and 45 can reverse all of it.

Not Chinese, but probably a lot of Russian made products. Cheap vodka? As long as they don't start importing their planes. I don't think they have a good safety record.

When Canada decides they need a wall on THEIR southern border to keep out the riff-raff, will they make their southern neighbors pay for it? :)

Well, if multitudes of US citizens are crossing the border for free healthcare, jobs, and send all the money back to family in the US, then I suppose it'd be fair for them to do that, Eh? :)
